Editorial Portrait Photographer in Vancouver
Vancouver Editorial Portrait Photographer – Dark, edgy, and gritty personal portraits
Yes, it happens a lot. A person contacts me and we meet up in person or on a phone/video call. The connection is pretty instant. Furthermore, I pick up on the cues quite quickly. It is from there that I get a strong sense of the direction for the photography. Because ultimately, it is you who drives it. For these editorial portrait photography sessions I pitch the creative with images and words. As a photographer and creative, it is emotions and feelings that wash over me. So, the direction is motivated by all of that. Resulting in a series of photographs that are all uniquely you.
So, here’s a tiny tidbit about the person in these images. First, she is a quiet force of an individual. Second, and amazingly, one as equally expressive as she is introverted. It was absolute pure joy for me to guide her to that place. And for us everything was a bit of magic.
For this session, we worked on her styling and the styling of her space collaboratively. Also, she did her own hair and makeup.
